The following instructions describe the stages of the thesis process at Karelia University of Applied Sciences, from the choice of the topic to the publications of the thesis. The related forms and templates are also enclosed.

The process described above is a rough outline and can differ slightly among programmes. For example, there may be differences in what the seminars and practices are called. Moreover, some of the processes are parallel. Teachers of different programmes will give further instructions if needed.

Before starting the thesis, the student should complete methodological studies in his/her field. Additionally, the student should be familiar with Karelia UAS Thesis Instructions and the Reporting Instructions, for example regarding citations and referencing techniques and the mechanics of writing.
