General instructions: Each degree programme takes care of and manages the reporting, seminar and supervision procedures and practices in the programme.

Thesis Plan 5 cr.
Learning outcomes: The student
- is able to write a literature review to build a knowledge base for the thesis
- is able to create a feasible and realistic plan for the thesis
Core content:
- commissioned thesis assignment
- creation of the knowledge base
- choice of methods
- planning seminar
Thesis Implementation 5 cr.
Learning outcomes: The student
- can search, collect and analyse data for a professional development or research task
- is able to implement a product according to the professional development task (practice- based thesis)
- is able to apply the necessary research methods to the professional development tasks (research-based thesis)
Core content:
- data collection and analysis
- design and development of the product
Thesis Reporting 5 cr.
Learning Outcomes: The student
- is able to produce a formal academic and logically constructed report and follow the thesis instructions of Karelia UAS.
- is able to make reliable conclusions based on the previous knowledge and the outcomes of the thesis process.
- is able to critically evaluate his/her own work.
